Yesterday, we unveiled some unique bikes from Sea Otter Girona. Today, we’re focusing on several tech-focused items and components. First up, we have the Panzer, a new in-tire foam rim protection, paired with Peaty’s eco-friendly tubeless sealant. Additionally, the Outbraker, an anti-brake lock device, has a new version designed for Lobito e-bikes. White Crow, known for its automated tire pressure regulating system, has received interesting updates. Finally, we’ll take another look at AVS mountain bike hand guards.
Panzer Pentagonal Foam Anti-Flat Rim Protection
Rim inserts are essential for preventing flats, especially when riding with low tire pressures. The latest innovation is Panzer—a 5-sided foam ring that floats inside the tire cavity. This design allows tubeless sealant and air to flow freely while keeping weight low and letting the tire flex naturally.

Peaty’s Biodegradable Tubeless Tire Sealant
Peaty’s tubeless tire sealant is an eco-friendly, ammonia-free solution designed to seal tires quickly. Created by a former DH World Champion, this biodegradable, latex-based sealant uses larger nano-platelets to speed up the sealing process. Additionally, it contains corrosion inhibitors to protect alloy rims and tires, preventing drying out or clumping inside the tire.

Outbraker Anti-Hydraulic Brake Locking Device
Outbraker has received an upgrade, thanks to an OEM partnership. Developed for Lobito e-bikes, the updated system now features a tool-free, knurled adjustment knob. This makes brake pressure adjustments easier compared to the previous version, which required a 5-sided tool. (above, right).
Outbraker is not an anti-lock braking system (ABS), but a brake line pressure limiter. You set the maximum brake pressure, and the system ensures that the pressure doesn’t exceed that limit. This feature helps prevent over-braking, offering better control for both new and experienced riders.

White Crow On-the-Fly Tire Pressure Adjustment Updates
White Crow has made significant updates to its on-the-fly tire pressure adjustment system. It uses a centrifugal compressor and two air chambers inside the tire. Over the past two years, the company has focused on improving functionality through manufacturing optimizations, including the use of high-quality 3D printing across Europe.
The latest improvement includes a live pressure monitoring prototype with a Bluetooth pressure gauge that tracks real-time internal and external pressures. This system isn’t available to consumers yet but is designed to help monitor tire pressure during rides.
Key Updates:
White Crow has optimized manufacturing and incorporated 3D printing to enhance system functionality. They also introduced the Bluetooth pressure monitoring system for real-time tracking. The system operates with two air chambers (AC1 and AC2), similar to the Schwalbe Pro Core setup. A valve releases air to adjust the pressure as needed.
Simple Mechanical Control
The system is controlled via a simple mechanical lever that operates a controller at the rear axle. Both the lever and controller are 3D printed for customization.
AVS moto-inspired mountain bike hand guards
I’ve seen AVS hand guards on various mountain bikes, including those of ex-DH World Champion Nico Vouilloz. After racing through overgrown trails at Sea Otter Girona and tearing up my knuckles on brambles, I realized these hand guards would be a great addition.
The AVS mountain bike hand guards are a simple design. Either an alloy or molded plastic arm holds the colorful plastic guards in place. These guards protect your hands from brush and debris. They are flexible enough to prevent injury if you hit something larger, like a tree, but deflect smaller obstacles.
The all-plastic versions start at €50, the alloy version is €60, with an additional €10 for fancy stickers.
I’m definitely getting a set to carry in my bag.
